You’re my sunshine
You make all my grey days clear
And I’m so glad that you’re here
I love your complexity
Enticing and exciting like electricity.
I love how you rise;
The morning sun
Over a small, sleepy town
To turn frowns upside down.
With your rays that shine so warmly
I bathe and bask in them,
In your love: I soak it all in.
Your early morning rays
Seep through the cracks and chinks,
Through all nooks and crannies
To kiss my chocolate coloured skin
And give me a reason
To get through the day.
I love how your rays burn
During the midday
Right on my head’s crown; the heat is intense.
Rages on like the flames of hell
And I die a little with each passing moment.
No amount of shade, nor any umbrella
could be enough to shield me from
Your midday madness and mayhem
But still I stay
And hold on cause I like it
And that’s enough reason
To get me through the day.
I love how you set
Your rays recede
During the evening
You calm down
And become softer and mild,
Still with a magical glow.
They don’t believe in magic
But I do, when it comes to you.
Cause you paint the sky
Red, purple, orange and blue
And in your golden hours
Your rays touch everything,
including my heart, which turns to gold, for a split second.
You take away your magic with you
You take away your colours with you
But my love for you remains all through.
And that was enough reason to get me through the day.
Now as you remained calm,
And retire to slumber
Know this: I love you, bipolar sunshine
I’ll stay, just for you
Every single day, every step of the way.
